They are passionate about creating a platform for filmmakers that are yet to be discovered and picked up by the bigger film festival circuit. #LWTFilmFest is a celebration of undiscovered talent and independent film from across the UK, that actively supports and champions filmmaking in Lowestoft on the East Coast!

Suffolk Shorts was established as a Community Interest Company in 2019 with the aim of bringing exceptional short films to Suffolk as well as encouraging local filmmaking. During 2019 the team curated programmes for First Light Festival, and brought The Best of the Fest to Leiston Film Theatre. They held the first full festival in real life, and online with our partners, Ipswich Film Theatre, in October 2021. In 2022 the festival has moved to The Riverside at Woodbridge where it will be again this year.

Lavenham Film Festival

The LFF was created to help producers old and new by providing an exciting, new, affordable festival to highlight and promote film.
Often described as “the best medieval village in England’, Historic Lavenham will play host to its first film festival this year.
With its picturesque 16th century Guildhall providing one of many breathtaking venues for screenings.
