We are so excited to finally be able to shout from the roof tops about this Burberry Campaign. Burberry contacted us after the first lockdown to ask about Lowestoft Seafront as a potential location for their new campaign. They loved the sandy beach and the promenade next to the beach for their performers to dance from.
This was the first production of scale since the start of the pandemic to come to Suffolk and we were perfectly placed to help make this Covid secure shoot happen.
The request was ambitious with 50 crew and cast needed in Lowestoft for the shots to work. The shoot took place just before the second bank holiday in August and East Suffolk Council were incredibly helpful with their time and expertise.
A large section of the beach was closed to allow for clear backgrounds and an ambitious drone shoot. The whole advert was shot of film so a large drone was required to lift the film camera. Screen Suffolk worked closely with the location manager to secure much needed production space in the privately owned gardens next to Waterloo Road.
The day of the shoot went without hitch, the weather held and as you can see from the film an overcast day was required and Lowestoft delivered! Who would expect anything else from bank holiday Friday.
It’s so wonderful to see the results – Lowestoft is a fabulous filming location, the wide open beaches being able to double as California and the contrasting cityscapes mean you can find all styles of location here.
