Over 350 locations now available

24-10-2018

As we were putting up yet more locations onto the hub last week, it occurred to us that we had broken the 350 mark.  We decided that this was newsworthy!

We have been working really hard over the last few months to increase the number and variety of locations that we can offer to productions.  We are already in the position of being able to permit filming on most of the counties beaches and in parks but we want to offer as many other types of locations as possible.  In the last month we have scoured the county and found some truly original locations.

Southwold Pier

Among our favourites are Southwold Pier, which is now exclusively available to us as a location and Pod Hollow – a real life Hobbit house which was built under the guidance of the Tolkein Society.  Built in the heart of North Suffolk, again it’s only available for filming through Screen Suffolk.

We also love the gritty feel of this council building – it’s begging for a chase scene.

The best thing about searching Suffolk for the best locations is all the suprises you get.  We recently signed up The Angel Hotel in Bury St Edmunds and were stunned by the Wingspan Bar below the ground floor.  In fact cellars are always the best surprise.  Higham House has an amazing cellar and it’s only when you ask the question ‘Is there anything else you’d like to show us?’ that you find out about these hidden gems.

Screen Suffolk operates a gold, silver and bronze service for locations.  It’s free to register locations with us and our gold service ensures Screen Suffolk manages all aspects of filming including promoting the property.

We are always looking for more potential film locations so plesae just fill in this online form and we’ll be in touch.
